Discover Scuba is an introduction for potential divers of the age of 10 years and older. You learn to breathe underwater using scuba equipment and experience shallow dive, in the pool or in pool like conditions, under supervision of an instructor. For some just trying to dive is enough, but for others, Discover Scuba also allows them to complete Confined Water Dive One (a part of the Open Water Dive course). This allows participants to earn credits toward these courses or toward the Discover Scuba Diving water skill development session.

The Discover Scuba experience quickly moves people into the open water environment. After a straightforward knowledge and skill development session, participants dive in a small group at a local dive site. Discover Scuba Diving also links directly to the Open Water Divers course. Those who have completed the Discover Scuba Diving experience earn credits toward Confined (swimming pool) and Open water Dive One. You will get temporary SSI certification that allows you to use for one year.

What do I need to start?Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit and compatible in the water can earn a SSI Open Water Divers certification. If you are between 10 or 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a SSI Junior Open Water Diver program available.
Minimum age: fifteen years old (twelve for Junior Open Water Diver) Location: Swimming pool and sea, max depth: 18 meters Include pool training, 4 sea dives by boat, dive equipment, theory, certificate, manual, log book and drink Time: 3/4 days
Throughout the course, you'll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipments and techniques. You will earn this rating by completing pool dives, knowledge development sessions and by making two open water (ocean, sea or lake) dives. Adventure Diver Certification. If you complete your Deep Adventure Dive, Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive and the tree Adventure Dives for a total of five, you can earn your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.
What do I need to start?SSI Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organization).
What will I do?This certification includes 5 adventure dives, including the Deep Adventure Dive, the Underwater Navigator Adventure Dive and three of the following:

Emergency First Response gives you the tools you need to perform CPR First Aid. Werther you're diver or non diver, Emergency First Response prepares you to properly handle in potentially life-threatening situations.
What do I need to start?No dive certifications are required. There is no minimum age limit.
What will I do?This comprehensive program is composed of two modules that can be taught in tandem or as stand-alone courses: Emergency First Response-Primary Care and Emergency First Response-Secondary Care. Together, these courses provide extensive instruction in CPR and First Aid, as well as providing optional (yet recommended) Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Emergency Oxygen sessions.

The SSI Rescue Diver course will expand your knowledge and experience beyond purely recreational level because you'll learn to look beyond yourself and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is serious, it's an enjoyable way to build your confidence.
What you need to start?SSI Advanced Open Water Diver or Junior Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from other organization) and successful completion of a sanctioned CPR program within the past 24 months.
What will I do?Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. During the 5 open water sessions you will cover:

Take the first step in your dive career and become a SSI Dive Master. Working closely with a SSI Instructor, you'll expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills as you become a dive professional. SSI Dive Master training develops your leadership abilities by assisting an Instructor with student divers.
What can a Dive Master do?Working at local Dive Centers, on dive boats, yachts and at exotic resorts. A Dive Master can assist a SSI Instructor with students, lead SSI Scuba Divers on guided dive tours, teach and certify SSI Skin Divers, teach SSI Discover Scuba Snorkelling programs, conduct SSI Scuba Review programs for certify divers, lead certified divers on Discover Local Diving experience, teach Emergency First Response after successful completion of an Emergency First Response Instructor course.
What do I need to start?SSI Advanced Open Water Diver and SSI Rescue Diver certification or qualifying certification from other organization, medical clearance signed by a physician and 20-30 logged dives.
What will I do?Learn dive leadership trough classroom and independent study sessions, complete water skills and stamina exercises in confined and open water, exercises to test organizational and problem solving abilities, an internal or series of practical training exercises and successful completion of a sanctioned CPR program within the past 24 months.
Minimum age: eighteen years old Location: Various locations Include one week internal training, 30 sea dives by boat and from shore, dive equipment, theory, certificate, manual, dive table and wheel, ERD and SSI Membership and log book Time: 2 or 3 months
